Parade Ceremony to Mark Prisons Department’s 64th Anniversary

The Prisons Department has a role in shaping productive individuals through effective rehabilitation programmes and methods, a conducive environment and strategic integration. To fulfil this aim, every Prisons Department personnel needs to practise discipline and integrity at all times by adhering to the laws and general order of public service and obeying the teachings of Islam. Speaking during the Parade ceremony to commemorate the Prisons Department's 64th anniversary yesterday morning, Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Doktor Haji Awang Abu Bakar Bin Haji Apong, Minister of Home Affairs highlighted that a personnel's positive values or characteristics will decide his or her contribution to the department, adding that the most vital value is integrity, which includes honesty and sincerity in carrying out duties.

23 officers and staff of the Prisons Department received certificates and the prisons service excellent employee awards for 2017. The recipients, meanwhile, shared that the values of work ethics which have been inculcated while carrying out their duties as well as the recognition received can act as a catalyst and help to strengthen the spirit and determination of every prisons personnel to improve their quality of service respectively.
