In efforts to encourage youths to be involved in welfare and religious activities, the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports today organised the KembaraAmal Ramadan or Ramadhan Travelling Charity Program in three districts.
In Tutong District, the program took place at KampungTanjung Maya mosque. Attending the event was Yang Berhormat (Retired) Major General DatoPaduka Seri Haji AminuddinIhsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya SaifulMulokDato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports who also led the reading of Surah Al-Fatihah. The programme was further enlivened by a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony and dikirmarhaban. 280 youths comprising Officers and staff of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and departments under it, Mosque Takmir Committees, Youth Associations, Mosque Youth Groups, students, Youth Love the Country Alumni and villagers took part in the programme.
The ceremony ran concurrently with the presentation of endowment. Among those present were Yang BerhormatAwang Haji Umarali bin Esong, Yang BerhormatAwang Haji Abdul Wahab bin Apong, Yang BerhormatAwang Haji Ramli bin Haji Lahit, members of the Legislative Council, AwangShamsulBahrin bin Haji MohdHussain, Tutong District Officer anfAwangZafri bin Haji Mohamed, Acting Director of Youth and Sports.
The Ramadhan Travelling Charity Programme this afternoon continued with the presentation of donations to five families listed under the Tutong District Community Development Department, JAPEM. The donations were presented by the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports. Also present was AwangShamsulBahrin bin Haji MohdHussain, the Tutong District Officer.
