The Weekend Market Programme 'Pasar Kitani' acts as an alternative platform for marketing agricultural produce and products of local farmers and entrepreneurs. It is a method to further strengthen the local agricultural sector in Brunei Darussalam and this week the vendors sold mostly fishery industry products. The event was in conjunction with the Farmers, Livestock Breeders and Fishermen's Day that takes place annually on the 1st of November. Pasar Kitani was held at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium area in Berakas yesterday.
The event was attended by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali bin Apong, Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism. The programme which is organised by the Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism through the Agriculture and Agrifood Department in collaboration with the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports. Pasar Kitani takes place every week with the aim of selling local farm produce and products and this week it also celebrated the Farmers, Livestock Breeders and Fishermen's Day.
