Permission to Perform Haj

The Minister of Religious Affairs also explained that haj will only be allowed subject to the official regulations set by the Government of Saudi Arabia on the matter, as well as by taking into account the current COVID-19 situation during the Haj season.

In contrast to the umrah which has been of which the conditions are already known and subject to the latest COVID-19 situation during the pilgrimage season in addition to the decision of the COVID-19 Steering Committee in this country regarding the permission to exit and enter the country. While awaiting the regulations set by the Government of Saudi Arabia to give any directives or requirement regarding the haj situation for 1443 Hijrah/2022, the Haj Affairs Department, Ministry of Religious Affairs together with the relevant agencies can make early preparations on it. The pilgrim quota will be determined later, in accordance with specific considerations, especially the country’s readiness and ability in handling the pilgrims from the medical and health aspects while in the holy land.
