Phase 2 of Badas Tree Planting Project Sees Collaborative Effort in Seria

Seria: The Institute of Biodiversity and Environmental Research, Universiti Brunei Darussalam (IBER UBD), in partnership with Brunei Shell Petroleum Sendirian Berhad (BSP) and the Forestry Department, conducted the ‘Phase 2 Badas Tree Planting Project’ on the morning of 30th September at Jalan Badas, Seria.

According to Radio Television Brunei, around 50 volunteers from UBD, BSP, and the Forestry Department joined forces with the IBER research team to plant 200 ‘Dryobalanops rappa’ or Kapur saplings. This initiative signifies the ongoing efforts of the Badas Tree Planting Project, which is a science-based reforestation effort aimed at rehabilitating degraded areas along Jalan Badas. The program is part of a broader mission to safeguard the unique biodiversity and ecosystem of the area.
