Islam encourages its people to always maintain and protect the safety of faith, life, intellect, lineage and property which is the purpose of the syariah. An unsafe workplace, where uncontrolled sources of danger are found, may lead to accidents and harm. The matter was outlined in yesterday’s Friday sermon titled ‘Amalkan Penjagaan Keselamatan dan Kesihatan di tempat Kerja’ or ‘Practice Safety and Health Care at the Workplace’. The sermon also shared some of the measures to improve the culture of safety and health at the workplace.
According to the Imam or Prayer Leader, firstly is the management’s commitment in implementing objectives related to safety at the workplace. Secondly, by holding a discussion with employees before making a decision about safety and health. Thirdly, effectively discussing the goals and objectives of the Health and Safety measures implemented with the employees; and fourthly, ensuring that employees attend appropriate courses and training to upgrade their competency.
