The Ahli Sunnah Waljamaah school of thought practised by the Muslim community in the country gives a positive impact in uniting the ummah, protecting the community harmony as well as ensuring the country's stability. This was among the contents of the pre-dawn talk during the "Masjidku Makmur, Negara Berkat" programme at Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque early yesterday morning.
Among the congregation were Awang Haji Mohd Serudin Bin Haji Timbang, Acting permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Awang Roslan bin Haji Taja'ah, Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of religious Affairs. The talk entitled "Kenali Ajaran Sesat" or Know the Deviant Teachings, delivered by Ahmad Hazid bin Haji Abdul Hamid, Head of Halal Food Control section, Syariah Affairs Department also explained that eventhough the understanding of the Ahli Sunnah Waljamaah school of thought is solidly entrenched in the country, but the country still faces deviant challenges and threats to the aqidah or faith as well as spread of deviant teachings. The talk also touched on ways to avoid oneself from being influenced by or falling into deviant teachings as well as knowing its characteristics.
