Pre-Departure Orientation

About 50 scholarship and self-funded students who will be studying to the United States attended the Education USA Pre-Departure Orientation. The function took place yesterday afternoon at the Mulia Hotel in Kampong Anggerek Desa.

In her remark, Emily Fleckner, Charge D’ Affaires of the Embassy of United states of America in the country said this year, students from Brunei have been accepted to some outstanding institutes across United states and recognised the serious challenges that the COVID-19 pandemic has posed universities and students and hope that the international students will be still able to do so.

Yesterday’s orientation provides important information on studying and living in the United States in order for the students to prepare themselves for the adventure awaits. The briefing also explained on students’ visa applications and processes as well as COVID-19 guidance on travelling to the United States. Students who are still studying and returning from the United States also shared life experiences, education including health, safety on campus.
