The climax of the event was the presentation of the Premier Innovation Award, Public Sector Performance Grading Programme through Star Rating, Excellent Civil Service employee Award and Civil Service Staff Meritorious and Dedication Award.
His Majesty presented the awards. The recipient of the Silver Award for the Premier Innovation Award is the Royal Customs and Excise Group with a project on "Facilitating Application to Drive Vehicles (Entry/Exit) Across Borders through Control Posts". The group received a Learning or Project Grant not exceeding 5 thousand dollars, a trophy and Certificate of Appreciation besides recognition related to career and capacity development.
The Bronze Award was received by the Achievers Group from the Government Printing Department with a Printing Management System project. The group received a Learning or Project Grant amounting not more than 3 thousand dollars, a trophy and Certificate of Appreciation as well as recognition related to Career and Capacity Development. The Livesavers 995 Group from the Fire and Rescue Department was given the Special Mention Award. The group received 3 thousand dollars contributed by Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam, BIBD and Certificate of Appreciation.
Two departments that have undergone the Public Sector Performance Grading through star rating and received three stars received Certificates of Appreciation. They are the Public Service Department and the Public Service Commission.
49 officers and staff in Divisions 2, 3, 4 and 5 from every ministry received the Excellent Civil Service Employee Award. They have shown great dedication, excellent work performance and exemplary personality that can be emulated by other officers and staff as well as given quality and products which often exceed the requirements of duties and the responsibility of their appointments. For Division 2, the additional criteria assessed were community service, improvement initiatives and leadership qualities. Each recipient received a plaque, certificate of appreciation and one thousand dollars.
Meanwhile, 13 Division 5 staff from every ministry who have demonstrated great responsibility, integrity, dedication in carrying duties, dignity and outstanding personality as well as good examples to others received the Civil Service Staff Meritorious and Dedication Award. The recipients received a trophy, medal, certificate of appreciation and one thousand dollars in cash.

As the catalysts of national development, Civil Service staff are urged to always equip themselves with skills and knowledge to balance the requirements and reforms brought by the rapid development of technology in the Fourth Industrial Revolution Era. A working culture based on positivity, innovation, responsiveness and integrity is the key to empowerment of human resource in the country.
With the rapid global changes, economic development challenges and the need to upgrade the civil service, the Government needs civil service manpower who are not just efficient and skilled but also can internalise and practise noble values to ensure a unique, authoritative and progressive service which moves forward based on the Malay Islamic Monarchy, MIB concept.
