Several individuals and groups with outstanding achievements in international fields were awarded from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan. The awards aimed to acknowledge their contributions to the promotion of friendship between Japan and other countries and areas. His Excellency Motohiko Kato, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Brunei Darussalam made the remarks at the presentation of the Foreign Minister’s Commendation Award Ceremony to Doctor Chin Wei Keh, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Higher Education, Ministry of Education. Yesterday morning’s ceremony took place at His Excellency’s Residence in Kampung Sungai Tilong.
His Excellency Motohiko Kato also congratulated and expressed his gratitude for Doctor Chin Wei Keh contributions to the promotion of mutual understanding and friendship between both countries. Doctor Chin Wei Keh is a former Japanese scholarship student and he studied vocational and technical education at Tokyo Gakugei University. He served three times as the President of the Brunei Association of Japan Alumni, BAJA from 2012 to 2017. According to His Excellency, Doctor Chin Wei Keh has helped with the Japanese language activities held by the Embassy of Japan in the country. This year, the Commendations will be awarded to 205 individuals and 49 groups.
