A delegation from the Ministry of Health yesterday morning visited the homes of underprivileged patients to present donations, basic necessities and medical equipment to 17 patients as well as families who have been identified and registered at the Medical Welfare Divisions nationwide.
In Brunei Muara District, 5 patients as well as families were selected as recipients. The donations was handed over by Yang Berhormat Dato Paduka Doktor Haji Mohammad Isham bin Haji Jaafar, the Minister of Health.
According to Yang Berhormat, the purpose of the visits was to monitor the patient's condition as well as to lend a helping hand to the underprivileged ones in term of socio-economy. Apart from alleviating their burden, the medical equipment are hoped to assist the patient's well-being at home.
The visits are among the Ministry of Health's annual welfare activities organised through the Medical Welfare Division. The donations were collected through the Patient Welfare Fund at the division, and were donated by the Ministry's personnel, Meragang Sixth Form Centre, associations, the private sector as well as individuals.
