Presentation of Prizes to Brunei Darussalam Regatta 2019 Winners

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam presented prizes to the winners of the Brunei Darussalam Regatta 2019.

His Majesty first presented prizes to the winner of the 15 Paddlers' Special event Fibreglass Boat Race. Emerging champion was His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's team. The champion received a 3,000 dollar cash prize, trophy and medals. His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah's team came in second and received 1,500 dollars, trophy and medals while His Royal Highness the Crown Prince's team who took third, received 1,000 dollars, trophy and medals.

The winner of the Under-30 Youth 20 paddlers Fibreglass Boat Race, Podsi Kalimantan Barat A received a cash prize of 800 dollars and a trophy. In second place, Royal Brunei Armed Forces Sports Council received 650 and a trophy while Laksamana Sinampuan from Lawas Sarawak came in third and received 450 dollars and a trophy.

Universiti Brunei Darussalam, UBD Regatta Team emerged champion of the Inter Higher Education Institution Fibreglass Boat Race received 500 dollars and a trophy. Politeknik Brunei came in second, receiving 400 dollars and a trophy while Universiti Teknologi Brunei took third, receiving 350 dollars and a trophy.

The winner of the Inter-Colleges and Secondary Schools 15 paddlers Fiberglass Boat Race, Sayyidina Umar Al-Khattab Secondary School received a 500 dollar cash prize and trophy. Second place winner, Awang Semaun Secondary School received 400 dollars and a trophy while the Sports School took third, receiving 350 dollars and a trophy.

The 20 paddlers Youth Open Fiberglass Boat Race was won by the Royal Brunei Police Force Sports Council and received a 550 dollar cash prize and a trophy. Runner-up, Nanjing People's Republic of China team received 450 dollars and a trophy while SPSS in third received 350 dollars and a trophy.

Laksamana Sinampuan from Lawas Sarawak who emerged champion of the 30 paddlers Marathon Traditional Boat Race received His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's challenge trophy, 600 dollar cash prize, trophy and medals. Lela Cheteria A took second and received 4,000 dollars, trophy and medals while the Royal Brunei Armed Forces Sports Council took third, receiving 3,000 dollars, trophy and medals.

The Brunei Darussalam Regatta is a traditional sport that has been maintained even through changes in time. The regatta is an important cultural showcase for tourists to take a closer look at the country's traditions and at the same time introduce the country to the international arena.
