Teachers who are creative, innovative and capable of using the appropriate teaching methods and pedagogy will not only have a positive impact on the student's understanding and performance, but will also be able to generate critical and creative thinking.
In addition, they will also create a cheerful learning atmosphere and encourage students to have a proper command of knowledge that leads to excellent practices. This was highlighted by Dato Paduka Awang Haji Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohammad Daud, the Acting Minister of Religious Affairs during the prize presentation ceremony of the Religious Education Pedagogy Innovation Awards Competition. The event was held to mark the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Seri Begawan Religious Teachers University College, KUPU SB this afternoon. The Acting Minister said teachers must be able to consolidate innovative elements in spurring the transformation of Religious Education in the country.
The competition was won by Muflihun Group whose project was entitled, 'Iy Faraidh "On The Go" In Islamic Education. With the theme, The Transformation of Religious Education Pedagogy Innovation towards Effective Teaching and Learning, the competition was organised by KUPU SB's Education Faculty. It provided an avenue for the students to channel their creativity and innovations. Also present was Awang Haji Harun bin Haji Junid, the Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
