Air Chief Marshal TNI Yuyu Sutisna, the Chief of Staff of Tentara Nasional Indonesia-Angkatan Udara (TNI-AU) was awarded the Royal Brunei Air Force Honorary Pilot Wing with the consent of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, Minister of Defence and Supreme Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF). The ceremony was held yesterday morning at Royal Brunei Air Force Base.
Prior to the presentation of the Honorary Pilot Wings, Air Chief Marshal TNI Yuyu Sutisna received the salute from the Guard of Honour comprising personnel of the Royal Brunei Air Force.
The Honorary Pilot Wing was presented by Major General Pengiran Dato Paduka Seri Aminan bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, the Commander of RBAF. The award was in recognition for the valuable efforts and outstanding services contributed in strengthening the ties between the two air forces.
The Chief of Staff TNI-AU also made a courtesy call to Brigadier General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sahat, the Commander of the Royal Brunei Air Force. The visit was an introductory visit since his appointment as the Chief of Staff TNI-AU on the 17th of January 2018.
At the Bolkiah Garrison, Air Chief Marshal TNI Yuyu Sutisna also made a courtesy call to Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja (Retired) Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd. Yussof, the Second Minister of Defence. During the visit, the Second Minister of Defence affirmed the excellent ties that both countries enjoy at present, noting the robust bilateral cooperation through defence and military sectors as well as regional defence cooperation at multilateral level.
The Commander of RBAF also receive a courtesy call from Air Chief Marshal TNI Yuyu Sutisna.
