The Government of Japan has conferred Dato Paduka Doctor Haji Mohd Adnan Bin Buntar, former Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam to Japan as one of the recipients for 'Spring Imperial Decorations 2018'. To celebrate the event, a press conference was held yesterday morning at the Embassy of Japan in the country, in Kampung Kiulap.
Present was His Excellency Motohiko Kato, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Brunei Darussalam. At the ceremony, His Excellency expressed his gratitude to Dato Paduka Doctor Haji Mohd Adnan who received the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star for his contribution to the promotion of friendship between the two countries. His Excellency added, Dato Paduka continue to engage in activities after his retirement to enhance friendship between the two countries in Brunei-Japan Friendship Association, BJFA. Dato Paduka Doctor Haji Mohd Adnan who served as Ambassador of Brunei to Japan from August 2005 until October 2008 said it was an honour and privilege as ambassador back then to take responsibility to promote friendly relations and mutual understanding between Japan and Brunei in various area including economic, health, culture and education through people to people contact. Dato Paduka Doctor Haji Adnan attended the presentation ceremony on the 8th of May and was given an audience with His Majesty the Emperor at the Imperial Palace.
