Price Control (Display of Prices) Order Violation

2 compounds and 1 warning notice was issued by the Department of Competition and Consumer Affairs, Department of Economic Planning and Statistics, Ministry of Finance and Economy to 3 premises for violating the Price Control, Display of Prices Order.

Syarikat Perniagaan Faizee and Pasar Raya Orbit were issued a $700 and $500 fine respectively for inconsistent price conducts. Meanwhile, Syarikat Perniagaan Bismi was issued with a warning notice. The Price Control (Display of Prices) Order and the Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Order are enforced to protect consumers from unethical business practices. Businesses that are found to be flouting the Price Control (Display of Prices) Order is liable to a maximum fine of $20,000 and 5 years imprisonment.
