Bandar seri begawan: His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, welcomed the arrival of His Excellency Kay Rala Xanana Gusmo, the Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, at the Brunei International Airport. The Prime Minister and his delegation are in Brunei Darussalam for a three-day official visit.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the welcoming ceremony was attended by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin, Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism, serving as Minister-in-Attendance, as well as His Excellency Abel Guterres, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste. The ceremony commenced with the national anthems of both nations, followed by Prime Minister Gusmo's inspection of the Guard of Honour, presented by members of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces.
Prime Minister Gusmo was introduced to a number of key officials including Cabinet Ministers, Deputy Ministers, the Commissioner of Police of the Royal Brunei Police Force, the Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, foreign envoys in Brunei Darussalam, and ermanent Secretaries from the Prime Minister's Office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Subsequently, His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah was introduced to the official delegation from Timor-Leste. This visit marks Prime Minister Gusmo's third official visit to Brunei, following previous visits in 2014 and 2017.
