To give exposure and instil interest in the pupils and trainees of Pusat Bahagia on the importance of literacy skills in daily life, the Community Development Department, JAPEM through Pusat Bahagia throughout the country, organised a Differently Abled People, OKU Bahagia Literacy Competition. The prize presentation was held yesterday afternoon at Pusat Bahagia in Kampung Pulaie.
Prizes were presented by Dayang Saidah binti Haji Wahid, Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports. The literacy competition held in conjunction with the 8th National Family Day saw 3 categories up for competition namely Malay Language, English Language and Memorisation of Quranic Verses. The competition was an activity combining literacy and communications skills such as reading, writing and spelling. Apart from the spoken languages, it also highlights the reading of Al-Quran verses as well as jawi writing. Present was Dayang Rostinah binti Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Sura Pahlawan Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Tahir, Acting Director of Community Development.
