Five hundred and twenty students under the Islamic Studies Department are taking part in the Program for International Student Assessment, PISA 2018. PISA is an international education study conducted every three years by targeting 15-year-old students. This morning, students from Mahad Islam Brunei, Hassanal Bolkiah Boys Arabic Secondary School and Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit Girls Secondary Arabic Religious School started the program.
PISA has four domains namely reading Literacy, mathematical literacy, science literacy and global skills. For every 3 years, only one domain will be made as the main domain. For the PISA 2018 Main Survey, the main domain is reading literacy. The country's participation in PISA 2018 conducted by Organisation for Economic Corporation and Development (OECD) is in line with the objectives of Wawasan Negara 20-35. The programme carried out until the 30th of May is among the initiatives of the Ministry of Education in moving towards the achievement of the vision which is highly knowledgeable, skilled and successful citizens. Meanwhile, students from Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha Girls Secondary Arabic Religious School in Katok will start PISA this Thursday and students from the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Tahfiz Al-Quran Institute will start the programme this Monday.
