The positive efforts and high level of commitment shown by heads of departments under the Ministry of Development, are vital towards improving the quality of work and performance provided to the ministry's customers or stakeholders, in order to achieve the goal of excellent civil service in the country. The matter was highlighted by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Bahrin bin Abdullah, Minister of Development yesterday during the Quality Control Circle, QCC Convention for the Ministry of Development and departments under it for 2017. Yang Berhormat's speech was read by Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Suhaimi bin Haji Gafar, Deputy Minister of Development.
Touching on the QCC, Yang Berhormat said that its establishment directly provides opportunities for officers and staff to exchange views and thoughts, as well as share experience and knowledge to improve the service delivery of their respective organisations to other government departments.
Three projects of the Survey Department won the Ministry of Development's QCC competition. The project on "Less Comprehensive Flood Maps' put forward by the PGS1617 Group from the Survey Department emerged as the champion. The MU@KAD group, with their project entitled "R-S-O maps which do not meet customer demands" was placed second, while the project on "Difficulties in handling computer equipment" by 3GS group came in third. Prizes were presented by the Deputy Minister of Development. The teams will represent the Ministry of Development at the National Level QCC competition which will be held at a later date.
