Several government ministries and departments also organised the Qurban or Sacrificial rites to earn benefits and multitudes of blessings from Allah the Almighty.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs sacrificed 6 cows, 2 buffaloes and 3 goats for the Qurban ceremony. Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Uztaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Othman, the Minister of Religious Affairs distributed the sacrificial meat to 50 people of the poor and destitute who are registered under the Brunei Islamic Religious Council.
Meanwhile, 6 buffaloes were sacrificed at the Qurban ceremony by the Ministry of Health. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Zulkarnain bin Haji Hanafi, the Minister of Health distributed the sacrificial meat to 150 recipients. Also present was Awang Haji Zakaria bin Haji Serudin, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Health, and Datin Paduka Dr. Hajah Maslina binti Haji Mohsin, the Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Health.
5 cows, 6 buffaloes and one goat were sacrificed for this year's for sacrificial ceremony, jointly organised by the State Mufti Department, the Royal Brunei Airlines and Mulaut Abbatoir Sendirian Berhad. Present was Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doctor Ustaz Haji Awang Abd Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti. A total of 209 poor and destitute from Mukim Sengkurong received the sacrificial meat.
The Ministry of Defence and the Royal Brunei Armed Forces also held sacrificial rites and aqiqah ceremony. This year, a total of 7 buffaloes and 7 goats were sacrificed. Present was Brigadier General (Udara) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sahat, Joint Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces. Also present was Retired Captain Haji Mohd Amirul Shahnoel bin Haji Mohd Noeh, the Deputy Permanent Secretary of Technology and Development at the Ministry of Defence.
Universiti Brunei Darussalam, UBD also did not miss the opportunity to hold the qurban and aqiqah ceremonies. This year, 3 buffaloes and one cow were sacrificed for the ceremonies. Present was Datin Doctor Dayang Hajah Anita Binurul Zahrina binti Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Wijaya Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Aziz, the Vice Chancellor of UBD. The meat was distributed to participants as well as to the poor and destitute.
