Ramadhan Charity Drive Programme

In providing support and care to the less fortunate people and communities in the country in celebrating Ramadhan and Syawal, the Afiah Association is currently organising a Ramadan Charity Drive Programme which began yesterday until the 1st of April at the Dewan Muzakarah Perempuan, Masjid Universiti Brunei Darussalam.

With the theme “Saling Peduli dan Berkongsi” or Mutual Care and Sharing, the programme aims to foster concern and caring among the community, especially the youth so that they are always carrying out beneficial activities, especially in Ramadhan. Contributions needed are rice, cooking oil, cordial, flour and canned food. The Afiah Association Secretariat explained that the donations are expected to alleviate the burden of less fortunate families.

Meanwhile, McDonald’s donated food to mosques for breaking of the fast throughout Ramadhan as part of the ‘Indahnya Bersedekah’ programme. Yesterday afternoon, donations were handed over to Sungai Hanching Mosque and Perpindahan Lambak Kanan Mosque. The ‘Indahnya Bersedekah’ programme was first introduced in 2014. This year, the programme targets mosques in the Brunei Muara District with an estimated donation of 150 to 200 egg muffins per day. Each mosque will receive 50 muffins.
