Four underprivileged families in the Temburong District received contributions through the Ramadhan Kembara Charity Programme. The contributions were presented by Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Emran bin Haji Sabtu, a member of the Legislative Council, and Datin Paduka Dr Hajah Norlila binti Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Jalil, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports. Also in the delegation was Awang Mohd Amir Hairil bin Haji Mahmud, the Temburong District Officer.
Among the recipients was Awang Abdul Razak bin Abdullah. A welfare aid recipient, Awang Abdul Razak lives in a house under the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Housing Scheme. The contributions he received were in the form of food items and a Hari Raya Hamper. Contributions were also presented to Awang Kamis bin Malik, a private sector employee and recipient of Monthly Welfare Aid. He lives with his wife, their two children and his parent in-law in Kampong Selangan, Mukim Amo.
Meanwhile, two other recipients living in Kampong Amo 'A' are Mohd Zainol Abidin Shah bin Haji Mohd Salleh and Mohd Johari bin Abdullah. Awang Mohd Zainol, is a person with special needs and the youngest of 7 siblings; while Awang Mohd Johari who has a health problem lives in a house under the Brunei Islamic Religious Council Housing Aid Scheme with his wife and two children.
