Reception in Conjunction with Republic of India’s 73rd Independence Day

Bilateral relations between Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of India has been encouraging and meaningful. This was among the matters stressed upon by the High Commissioner of India to Brunei Darussalam during the reception in conjunction with the Republic of India's 73rd Independence Day.

Representing the government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali bin Apong, Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism.

His Excellency Ajaneesh Kumar in his speech also said that the number of high-level visits and discussions as well cooperation in areas such as education, energy, trade, investment, defence and cultural activities have greatly helped in strengthening the bonds between the two nations. Bilateral diplomatic relations between Brunei Darussalam and India were established in May 1984.
