Brunei Darussalam and the United States of America have fostered friendly relations since 1845, while being treaty partners for 172 years. The relationship is strengthened from year to year through various collaborations - among them military exercises, entrepreneurship as well as economy and trade. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the country underscored this at the reception to mark the 241st Independence Day celebration of the United States of America. The function was held last night at the Empire Hotel and Country Club.
Representing the Government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam at the reception was Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Singamenteri Retired Colonel Dato Seri Setia (Doctor) Awang Haji Mohammad Yasmin bin Haji Umar, the Minister of Energy and Industry at the Prime Minister's Office. His Excellency Craig Boyd Allen went on to say that the bilateral partnership will continue to produce dividends for both Bruneian and American people in the years ahead. His Excellency said his country will continue to work hard on every file within the diplomatic portfolio to expand the relationship between both countries in a practical, pragmatic and meaningful manner.
