His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, this morning watched the Jungle Warfare Demonstration, the highlight of the Regional Jungle Warfare Symposium, RJWS 2019. The demonstration took place at the Ulu Tutong Golden Jubilee Dam.
Upon arrival, His Royal Highness was greeted by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, the Second Minister of Defence; and Major General Pengiran Dato Paduka Seri Aminan bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, RBAF. Accompanying His Royal Highness was His Royal Highness Captain Udara Prince 'Abdul Mateen.
At the Royal Viewing Stage, Doa Selamat was read by Commander Haji Ainolnizam bin Haji Ibrahim, Head of the RBAF Religious Department.
The Crown Prince was then briefed on the jungle warfare demonstration scenario presented by Major Rudie Asmawi bin Hj Abidin, Head of Training, RBAF Training Institute.
His Royal Highness then rode on the Rigid Inflatable Boat to take a closer look at the demonstration.
RJWS 2019, which was held for the third time since 2017, was organised by the RBAF Training Institute and British Forces in Brunei Darussalam. The demonstration was a collaboration between the Royal Brunei Land Force, Royal Brunei Air Force and Second Battalion of the Royal Gurkha Rifles.
The Jungle Warfare Demonstration aimed to enhance a broader regional cooperation in the Jungle Warfare Capacity Development, Information Sharing and Research as well as development at the operational and tactical levels. This in line with this year's symposium theme, "What are the ends, ways and means for delivering Joint and Inter Agency effects within the Jungle Environment".
His Royal Highness then received junjung ziarah from 37 delegations who participated in the RJWS together with His Excellency Richard Lindsay, High Commissioner of United Kingdom to Brunei Darussalam and the Defence Advisors of the Countries involved.
The Crown Prince then received a Pesambah from the Co-Chairpersons from the RBAF Training Institute and British Forces in Brunei Darussalam.
Shortly after, His Royal Highness then attended a Luncheon. Doa was read by the Head of the RBAF Religious Department.
Prior to leaving, His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and His Royal Highness Captain Udara Prince 'Abdul Mateen signed the Royal Parchment.
13 countries namely the United States of America, Australia, the Republic of the Philippines, the Republic of Indonesia, Lao People's Democratic Republic, Malaysia, New Zealand, France, Singapore, Thailand, Viet Nam, Cambodia and Brunei Darussalam participated in the Regional Jungle Warfare Symposium 2019.
