RJWS Enables Information Collection towards Regional Capacity-Building

The Regional Jungle Warfare Symposium (RJWS) 2018 is hoped to widen the participants' knowledge and also strengthen the bonds amongst participating countries by providing greater levels of interaction outside the usual working environment. The Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces stated the matter at the closing ceremony of the symposium which concluded yesterday. The ceremony was held at Medicina Line, Seria.

At the ceremony, Major General Pengiran Dato Seri Pahlawan Aminan bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud presented certificates to the participating delegates. Throughout the four-day Symposium, representatives from participating countries discussed security threats, as well as, best practices in terms of information collection which will support regional capacity-building, and capability development that would enhance jungle-environmental operational activities.

In its ambition to develop Brunei Darussalam as a Centre of Excellence for Jungle Warfare, the Symposium spurs the exchange of information and professional practices amongst different military training institutions, which will enhance cooperative efforts, as well as opportunities for future initiatives and collaborations.
