Brunei Darussalam and Thailand have a close and longstanding defence relation. Bilateral defence ties have continued to be strengthened through various and wide-ranging interactions between two countries armed forces such as the regular exchange of visit; exercises; training and cross-attendance of courses. According to the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Brunei Darussalam these interactions have contributed to the strong ties of friendship between two countries armed forces across all levels. Her Excellency Miss Wanthanee Viputwongsakul was speaking during The Reception on the Occasion of The Royal Thai Armed Forces Day. The Reception was held at the Rizqun International Hotel, 3rd February night.
Present was Brigadier General Udara Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sahat, Commander of the Royal Brunei Air Force. Her Excellency Wanthanee Viputwongsakul also said the two countries also cooperate closely and extensively on multilateral platforms such as ASEAN Defence Ministers Meeting or ADMM and ADMM-Plus. Her Excellency pleased to note that the 13th ADMM meeting during Thailand's Chairmanship last year has been fruitful. Her Excellency said Thailand will continue to support Brunei's initiatives and looks forward to Brunei's chairmanship of ADMM next year
