Various parties in the country took the opportunity to hold Qurban Ceremony or Sacrificial Rites in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidil Adha. The ceremony is hoped to reap multitude of blessings from Allah S.W.T. yesterday afternoon, members of Brunei Darussalam Photography Association and their families held the distribution of sacrificial meat.
The sacrificial meat was distributed by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Ingenieur Awang Haji Suhaimi bin Haji Gafar, Minister of Development. 3 buffaloes were sacrificed this year. The ceremony was held at Kampung Bengkurong.
The Serikandi Group of Companies held a Qurban ceremony by sacrificing 4 cows and 1 goat. The sacrificial meat was distributed by Awang Haji Ramlee Bin Haji Jamudin, Belait District Officer to 50 recipients.
50 orphans and poor in Kampung Mumong yesterday afternoon received the sacrificial meat. The ceremony was organised by Kampung Mumong Consultative Council.
A similar ceremony was held by Kampung Keriam Mosque Takmir Committee yesterday afternoon. 5 buffaloes were slaughtered this year.
Meanwhile, the Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam Mosque Takmir Committee in Kampung Sengkarai Tutong also organised a Qurban Ceremony. This year, one buffalo was sacrificed.
Two buffaloes were sacrificed at RPN Kampung Rataie Mosque and distributed to 40 poor and destitute.
Meanwhile, the Village Consultative Council of Kampung Tanjung Belayang, Kampung Batu Bejarah and Kampung Batang Tuau sacrificed 3 buffaloes and distributed the meat to 7 poor and destitute people.
