Two local men were sentenced to Ta'zir punishment by the Syariah High Court following the Sariqah offence or theft under the Syariah Penal Code Order 2013. The two cases were investigated by the Tutong Police Station.
The first offender, 28-year old Muhammad Abdull Kahar bin Haji Tuah was sentenced to one month imprisonment after pleading guilty of stealing a sensor light on the 3rd of February. Meanwhile, the second offender, Denny bin Anggau, aged 26 was sentenced to 3 months imprisonment for stealing powerbank, headlamp, speaker Sony Xplode, and 'sadak bubuk' at around last 24th of January and the court also ordered the stolen items to be returned to the victim who was the offender's brother. Both offences were committed at the same house in STKRJ Kampung Telisai, Tutong.
