Second Ministerial Conference of OECD Southeast Asia Regional Programme

Digitalisation efforts have taken on an important role and have gained increasing attention, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic where digital transformation efforts have been intensified. Collective efforts need to be accelerated to ensure that Southeast Asian nations are not left behind. This was stated by Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office while representing Brunei Darussalam in the Second Ministerial Conference of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, OECD Southeast Asia Regional Programme via online, yesterday afternoon.

Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud explained that Brunei Darussalam, through the Manpower Planning and Employment Council, MPEC has allocated funds under the National Development Plan to further invest into the development of its human capital.

The conference brought together OECD Member States and ASEAN Member States. The official opening of the conference started with keynote remarks from His Excellency Chung Eui-Yong, Foreign Minister of the Republic of Korea; His Excellency Don Pramudwinai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand; and His Excellency Mathias Cormann, Secretary-General of the OECD.
