A majority of the youth movement and associations that have similar objectives with the Scouts Association have taken steps towards the social enterprise. Therefore, the scout movement is also welcomed to take similar steps so that it will leave a more significant and meaningful impact within the society. This was underlined by the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports in his keynote address at the launching of 'Seminar Menuju 100 Tahun Berpengakap di Negara Brunei Darussalam' or the 'Towards 100 Years of Scouting in Brunei Darussalam Seminar'. The function took place yesterday morning at the Brunei Darussalam Scouts Association Headquarters in Gadong.
Yang Berhormat Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin said in order to improve their achievements, the Scouts Association should also take measures to think outside the box to diversify scouting activities that can develop its members including in business and agriculture.
In line with its motto 'Be Prepared', the Brunei Darussalam Scouts Association recorded various achievements and developments at the national level. According to the latest statistics, scout members have reached over one thousand 300 people. The seminar was held in conjunction with the 86th anniversary of scout movement in the country, and in commemorating the World Scouts Day that is celebrated on every 1st of July. Also present was Pengiran Mohammad Amirrizal bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, Permanent Secretary for Administration, Finance and Estate at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.
