The sighting of the new moon of Syawal 1443 Hijrah will be carried out nationwide on Sunday afternoon, 29th of Ramadhan 1443 Hijrah corresponding to 1st May 2022.
Syar’ie Judges and officers of the Syariah Courts, State Judiciary Department, Prime Minister’s Office together with officers from Ministry of Religious Affairs; the Survey Department, Ministry of Development and State Mufti Department will be at the set locations for the sighting of the new moon of Syawal.
The locations are Tanjung Batu, Kampong Sabun; Bukit Agok, Jerudong; Bukit Lumut, Belait District and Bukit Ambog, Tutong District. The announcement of the first of Syawal 1443 Hijrah will be broadcast through Radio Television Brunei as soon as the result of the sighting is obtained. The public is requested to give their cooperation by not approaching the locations.
