Effective Religious Education, Steady Da'wah or Religious Propagation as well as Social Security and Wellbeing Assurance the 3 main focuses of the Ministry of Religious Affairs' Strategy Plan for 2020-2024. The importance of Strategic Plan, issues and challenges faced in the effort to achieve Wawasan Negara 2035 were discussed during the Forum on Publicising the Ministry's Strategic Plan 2020-2024 this morning. The forum was among the programmes in the 35th National Day Special Gathering for the officers and staff of the Ministry of Religious Affairs. It took place at the Dewan Tarbiyah of the Seri Begawan Religious Teachers University College, KUPU SB.
The event was attended by Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, the Minister of Religious Affairs and Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar, the Deputy Minister of Religious. Dayang Hajah Omi Kalsum binti Haji Md Noor, Senior Religious Officer touched on the importance of Strategic Plan and its relation to accomplishing Wawasan Negara 2035. She also highlighted the phases of strategic planning. The Ministry of Religious Affairs has implemented two phases of the Strategic Plan and the forum was an effort to socialise it in order to gain input aimed at getting all levels to be involved in preparing the documentation of the Strategic Plan 2020-2024.
Effective Religious Education provides expertise to improve teaching and learning. Awang Haji Shamsol bin Haji Omar, the Acting Director of Islamic Studies said the focus is aimed towards increasing religious acts or worship, good moral and internalising religion as well as producing a generation of intellects and professionals.
The other focus, Stable or Steady Da'wah was highlighted by Awang Muhammad Yussof bin Haji Abd Majid, Special Duties Officer (Grade II) who said the aim was to diversify the medium of da'wah through effective dissemination, empowering culture and religious practice.
Menawhile, Awang Haji Aziman bin Haji Zaman, Education Officer explained the Social Security and Well-being Assurance. He said the focus provided a sustainable Social Assurance for the underprivileged so that no group would be neglected as well as to reduce dependency on government assistance and to increase resources and alternatives.
