The Knowledge Convention 2021 in conjunction with His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s 75th birthday celebration continued yesterday with a Special Interview with the Minister of Home Affairs on the Rampai Pagi programme. Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, as the Co-Chairman of the Knowledge Convention 2021 Steering Committee in the Special Interview explained that COVID-19 is a manifestation of the people’s solidarity and a test to assess the endurance of a nation.
Yang Berhormat Pehin said that the government appreciates the people’s readiness to contribute financially or in material terms. With the country facing the COVID-19 outbreak, the agencies involved are grateful to see all levels of the society shouldering their respective burdens. It can be clearly seen that the country’s people strongly stands behind the wise leadership of the Monarch as a symbol of national resilience. Yang Berhormat Pehin added that COVID-19 is a litmus paper that tests the people’s strength as a unified nation.
The Minister of Home Affairs also said that the people’s spirit and commitment in their preparedness in becoming frontliners are greatly appreciated. Strong encouragement and support must be given so that the spirit of preparedness to contribute continues and becomes the best lesson for future generations. This year’s Knowledge Convention carries the theme, “COVID-19: Satu Iktibar” or “COVID-19: A Lesson”.
