Special Needs Pupils Sharing Teaching Programme

In an effort to improve the quality of teaching and learning in Special Education for Special Religious Education teachers, the Islamic Studies Department, Ministry of Religious Affairs through the Special Religious Education Unit, the Religious School Division organised a Sharing Teaching Programme for Pupils with Special Needs, Autism.

79 participants comprising officers and special religious education teachers nationwide attended the four day programme starting the 27th of this month. Among those present was Pengiran Zamry bin Pengiran Haji Bujang, President of SMARTER Brunei. The programme aims to provide exposure to teachers related to the characteristics and symptoms of students with autism, apart from empowering capabilities in handling them. Workshops and therapy to control student’s behaviour, as well as a showcase of teaching aids and equipment used in therapy is also held.
