Brunei Darussalam marked another milestone for regional private Sectors on Bilateral Cooperation on the supply chain ecosystem. This is following a Strategic Alliances Agreement Signing between International Halal Trade Hub and Services, IHTHS Sendirian Berhad Brunei Darussalam and Economic Development Management Organisation EDMO Malaysia. The signing ceremony was held yesterday morning at Queen Elizabeth Jetty in Kampong Dato Gandi.
Present was Pengiran Yura Kesteria bin Pengiran Setia Negara Pengiran Doktor Haji Mohamad Yusuf, Executive Chairman for Brunei Darussalam, BIMP-EAGA Business Council. In his welcoming remarks Retired Captain Zailan bin Pehin Datu Kerma Setia Retired Major Dato Seri Laila Jasa Haji Mohd Don, Head of SME Development Brunei Darussalam, BIMP-EAGA Business Council said these products are tested on a pilot program, with the agreement signed with the young farmers group from the Youth Development Centre aimed to create sustainable downstream services, create self-employment and promote cluster development. The Agreement also foresees the strong possibility for factories to be set up in Brunei Darussalam to produce these products for the Brunei Market, the BIMP-EAGA market and the growing demand of the global market.
Signing on behalf of IHTHS was Awang Ramlee bin Begawan Pehin Khatib Dato Paduka Haji Zainuddin while Awang Ariff Fadli bin Abd Wahab represented Economic Development Management Organisation Malaysia. Meanwhile Signing the Pilot Program was Awang Ramlee for IHTHS and Awang Hairinshah bin Tahiruddin represented the Young Farmers Group.
