Belait: His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, visited the British Forces Brunei (BFB) located in Belait District. Accompanying His Majesty was His Royal Highness 920 Major (Udara) Prince ‘Abdul Mateen. The visit took place on the morning of 27th September.
According to Radio Television Brunei, His Majesty was welcomed at the Officers’ Mess BFB Garrison by representatives from both the United Kingdom and Brunei Darussalam. He received a Maala garland and was briefed on the activities of the Second Battalion, Royal Gurkha Rifles (2RGR) stationed at BFB.
During his visit, His Majesty inspected a Guard of Honour led by Major Ed Hicks, Officer Commanding ‘C’ Company, 2 RGR. The day featured several cultural performances, and His Majesty engaged in meetings with the families of BFB personnel. The visit also included a luncheon.
The visit by His Majesty underscores the enduring ties between the United Kingdom and Brunei Darussalam, emphasizing the importance of continued bilateral cooperation in regional security.
