Brunei Darussalam witnessed a total lunar eclipse which started late yesterday afternoon. Following the phenomenon, a Sunat lunar eclipse prayer was held in all mosques, suraus and religious halls nationwide. The Balai Khazanah Islam Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah was among those holding the prayer.
Joining the congregants was Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yusof, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office. The Sunat Lunar Eclipse prayer was led by Awang Haji Muhammad Azrol Alim bin Haji Zaini, Zone 2 Monitoring Officer, Brunei Muara District Mosque.
Meanwhile, the Balai Khazanah Islam Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah and the Brunei Darussalam Astronomical Society held a Total Lunar Eclipse Observation at the open area in front of Balai Khazanah Islam Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Buliding. Also present was Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Sufian bin Haji Sabtu, Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office for Securities and Law.
