Sunat Tarawih Prayer

The mass sunat tarawih prayer started last night at all mosques, suraus and religious halls. The congregants are also reminded to adhere by the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health.

In Brunei Muara District, the Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Mosque in Bandar Seri Begawan becomes the focus of the congregants. With the reduction of restriction measures, congregants are advised to always adhere to the standard operating procedure, SOP, which has been set even though the country is in an early endemic phase. SOP for mosques, suraus and religious halls during the month of Ramadhan, adult males and females are allowed, while children aged 11 and below are not allowed.

In Belait District, the Jamalul Alam Mosque, Pekan Seria Mosque and Zainab Mosque in Lumut are among the focus for the sunat tarawih prayer. Muslims in the country are not left behind in celebrating the month of Ramadhan and reap the rewards on the first night of Tarawih.

The Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque in Tutong Town is the focus in the Tutong District. Several students and graduates from the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Tahfiz Al-Quran Institute were placed in selected mosques in the District to lead the Sunat Tarawih Prayer during the month of Ramadhan.

While in Temburong District, the focus is at the Utama Mohammad Salleh Mosque in Bangar Town. The Sunat Tarawih prayer is the sunat Muakkadah, a sunat that is highly demanded for every Muslim on every night of Ramadhan either individually or in congregants, to gain the pleasure and the reward.
