Ta’aruf Week Educates Students to Be Self-Sufficient

New Year 7 students of the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Tahfiz al-Quran Institute participated in a workshop to introduce to the students the characteristics of an al-Quran memoriser. 21 male students took part in the Al-Quran Memoriser Characteristics Workshop which explained that among the example of the best memorisers was Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wassalam as the Prophet has characteristics according to Al-Quran. This morning's workshop was held in conjunction with the institute's Ta'aruf week.

During the workshop, the new students had the opportunity to state their desire in choosing the institute as well as discuss the characteristics and responsibilities of a memoriser. The discussion was also held in groups. The Ta'aruf Week aimed to educate students to be self-sufficient and disciplined aside from acclimatising themselves with a more conducive Al-Quran memorisation and academic environment. The workshop was conducted by two of the institute's senior officers. In an interview with RTB, two of the new students explained their respective goals in undertaking studies at the institute.
