The aspect of the Brunei Sultanate history and principles of the Ahli Sunnah Wal Jamaah school of thought are two of the aqidah or faith aspects of Ahli Sunnah Wal Jamaah's Basics in the Country's Well-being. The findings were shared by the former Minister of Religious Affairs in his presentation of his working paper during the Seminar on Understanding of faith and Current Thinking, SEKAPES 2018, yesterday morning.
Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Doktor Haji Mohammad bin Pengiran Haji Abdul Rahman stated that the two aspects are clear evidence that the aqidah of the Ahli Sunnah Wal Jamaah is the best for the country and for any Muslim country if it is followed and adhered to completely.
Meanwhile, the working paper titled 'Pengukuhan pendekatan Wasatiyyah dalam Menangani Isu Pelampau Agama' or The Strengthening of the Wasatiyyah Approach in Tackling the Issue of Religious Extremists, presented by Yang Berbahagia Dato' Doktor Haji Nooh bin Gadot, Advisor to the Johore Islamic Religious Council, highlighted the wasatiyyah concept from the Islamic perspective. The debate and discussion on the role of the religion and imam or prayer leader in instilling wasatiyyah values were also included in order to view its importance to the religion and faith.
