Vegetables and fruits farm of Syarikat Perniagaan Hajah Arnie Haji Ali is expected to produce 35 thousand 700 kilogrammes of tapioca monthly. Apart from tapioca, the company also produces other crops such as sweet potato, cucumber, long bean, water pumpkin, chilli, tomato and bitter gourd. Vegetables and fruits owned by Awang Zaki bin Haji Sahak are planted on a 2-hectare site in Lumapas Agricultural Development Area.
The company began its agricultural operations in 2005 in Kampung Junjongan and Kampung Lamunin Tutong in a small scale. However, his company began to show good results after being offered a site by the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism to further develop his crops. Currently, the company has applied for an additional new agricultural site to plant 2 hectares of sweet corn and tapioca respectively.
The company’s Gross monthly production of vegetables and fruits include 1,700 to 2000 kilogrammes of cassava; 1,600 to 2000 kilogrammes of sweet potatoes; 260 to 500 kilogrammes of long beans; 1,950 to 2000 kilogrammes of cucumber, 840 to 1000 kilogrammes of bitter gourd; 1,500 to 2000 kilogrammes of tomatoes and 2,400 to 4,800 cobs of sweet corn. The company’s farm produce are marketed to wholesale markets, supermarkets, offices, schools as well as through the social media.
To smoothen and enhance the planting activities of the Company, the government especially the Department of Agriculture and Agrifood, Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism provided various assistance and facilities besides providing sites agricultural farms.
