The Early Endemic Phase Extended For One Month

The Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy stated that the Early Endemic Phase under the National COVID-19 Recovery Framework will be extended for another month.

By the consent of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and in reference to the Prime Minister’s Office Media Statement on the announcement of the update of the Guidelines during the Endemic Phase on the 12th December 2021, the COVID-19 Steering Committee informs that the Early Endemic Phase under the National COVID-19 Recovery Framework will be extended for another month, beginning Saturday the 15th of January 2022 until Monday the 14th of February 2022.

Movement restrictions carried out during ‘Operasi Peralihan’ or the directive to stay at home, will also be extended until Monday the 14th February 2022. However the period will be shortened from 12 midnight to 4 in the morning. This will help business premises improve the economy as well as the well-being of all while ensuring the COVID-19 situation continues to be under control. The extension of the Early Endemic Phase is by taking into account the COVID-19 situation which is currently recurring. In this regard the Government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam will continue to monitor the spread of infection and take appropriate measures for the safety of the citizens and residents of the country.
