A delegation from the National Defense College of the Philippines was in Brunei Darussalam for a four days study-tour from 22-25 May. The delegation visited the Ministry of Defence on 23 May.

During the visit to the Ministry of Defence, the head of delegation, General Fermin R de Leon Jr AFP (Ret), PhD, President of NDCP, together with nineteen other participants from the Philippines and Nigeria, received a briefing on the functions and roles of the Ministry of Defence and the Royal Brunei Armed Forces and on Brunei Darussalam's defence policies as well as an overview on the Regional Security Environment.

The study-tour is part of the NDCP's one-year course on Masters in National Security Administration (MNSA). During their time in Brunei, the delegation visited other government ministries and agencies to observe and understand the political, economic, socio-cultural, environment, techno-scientific and military aspects of the country.

The NDCP is also a counterpart of the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Institute of Defence and Strategic Studies in the Network of ASEAN Institutions of Defence and Security Studies (NADI), and this visit provides an opportunity to strengthen existing relations between both Institutions.
