Following temporary opening of the Brunei Muara-Temburong District Bridge which began yesterday, management committee of the Brunei Muara-Temburong District Bridge co-chaired by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia engineer Awang Haji Suhaimi bin Hj Gafar, Minister of Development and Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Abdul Mutalib bin Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Setia Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Yusof, Minister of Transport and Infocommunications urged members of the public to follow the advice and abide the guidelines from the Ministry of Health, including avoid gathering in large numbers in one area as measures to curb the spread of COVID-19.
The Minister of Development and Minister of Transport and Infocommunications also stressed that the use of bridge is specifically for making essential travels only. Members of the public are advised to jointly carry out social responsibilities by driving carefully and prudently while using the bridge and in compliance with the regulations under the Road Traffic Act, Section 68 in order to be equally responsible for maintaining safety and well-being of the people and other road users. Road users should abide by the speed limit of 80 kilometres per hour due to works are still underway on the bridge, and road users are not allowed to stop along the road for no reason except in needs or emergency case.
