Tiong Hwa Community Embraces Unity During Chinese New Year Celebration

Belait: The Tiong Hwa community across the country today celebrated the Chinese New Year with enthusiasm, goodwill, and harmony. The enthusiasm proves unity in diversity, where shared participation in community life transcends differences in race, religion, and culture to foster peace.

According to Radio Television Brunei, in Belait District, the Chinese New Year celebration was also held, featuring traditional practices such as the giving of red envelopes, or ang pow, typically given to children.

The community in Temburong District also participated by holding open house visits at several Chinese community residences. Various traditional dishes and local delicacies were served during these visits as a symbol of sharing sustenance and closeness. Such celebrations manifest harmony in line with values of respect and community life.
