Together enforcing towards public cleanliness

In ensuring that the laws on cleanliness in the public area are always abided by so that the country will always be clean, the Enforcement Unit of the Licensing and Enforcement Section, Brunei Muara District Office together with other enforcement agencies have launched an operation on an illegal dumping site at Kampong Jerudong. The operation involved seven enforcement agencies led by the Enforcement Section of the Brunei Muara District Office together with the Royal Brunei Police Force, Sengkurong Police Station Branch.

In the operation, Syarikat Jamil & Sons located in Kampong Sengkurong was fined for the offence of dumping and burning rubbish in a public area. During the operation, two immigration offences were also found. Members of the public are reminded not to use private land as rubbish disposal area without permit. Legal actions will be taken under Paragraph 12, Chapter 30 of the Minor Offences Act. If found guilty a fine of One thousand dollars will be imposed for the first offence, three thousand dollars for subsequent offences and not more than 3 months imprisonment.
