Towards maximising tourism opportunities, Royal Brunei Airlines, RB is stimulating the country's tourism sector by expanding its travel network to several new destinations apart from the existing 25 destinations. This development was an economic catalyst for trade and tourism. This was also part of RB's transformation revolution to further increase its role in making the country as connectivity hub, in line with its vision to introduce the country as a tourist destination choice.
In an interview with RTB recently, the Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and the Second Minister of Finance and Economy as Chairman of RB Board of Directors explained that to increase RB's services, RB needs to continue explore new technologies and face challenges in the aviation industry. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew Bin Abdullah said the introduction of services and expanding RB's flight network to several new destinations, can contribute towards the growth of tourism in the country. Last year, 278 thousand 110 tourists arrived in the country via flight, an increase of 7 point 4 percent compared to the previous year. The minister said currently, RB is focusing mostly on Australia. The company will also try to increase regional travels like the ones in China, and further increase the number of tourists coming into the country. Apart from that, the minister said RB must improve their quality of service with inflight products as well as connectivity. He added that RB must also keep up with competition, for example in inflight entertainment products.
