Traditional Food Making

Usually, when Hari Raya Aidilfitri arrives, a variety of dishes are served to the guests. For the community in Temburong District, ‘Kueh Lapat’ is a special dish that is a must during Hari Raya.

 

Lapat making has become a tradition in Temburong District with the coming of Hari Raya Aidilfitri. It is made either individually or in a group. Lapat is made from glutinous rice and coconut milk, wrapped in silat leaves. For the community in Temburong District, the Aidilfitri celebration will not be complete without the kueh lapat. Usually, the Lapat is served with peanut gravy or meat and chicken rendang.
